22% of Indians live below the poverty line, while the SDG target involves bringing this down to 11%. States such as Goa (with 5% population below poverty line) & Kerala (7%) are among the 7 that have already fulfilled this criterion under SDG-1
29% of Indian families had a member covered by a health scheme/insurance, while the SDG target is 100%. No state has reached this target, but Andhra Pradesh with 75% & Chhattisgarh with 68% are among the 6 that have >50% coverage
85% of Indians have got work under the national rural employment guarantee scheme (MGNREGS), while the SDG target is 100%. 11 states have achieved more than 90% #MGNREGS coverage, with Mizoram having 100%
36% of women (among eligible population) are receiving maternity benefits under various schemes. Goa (7% coverage), Delhi (8%), Maharashtra (9%) and Gujarat (9%) are among states with lowest coverage. Odisha has the highest coverage with 73%. The target is 100%.
10.3 families of every 10,000 are homeless. Among states, Delhi has the highest number of homeless households (54.4) followed by Madhya Pradesh (21.4). The two states of Arunachal & Mizoram have already met the SDG target of achieving no homeless households.
