I was outside the Supreme Court yesterday late afternoon when @thatginamiller emerged. The atmosphere changed immediately; there was a sudden, focused and visceral hatred. /1
I was not there when - the much less well known - Shami Chakrabarti emerged. But I am told her appearance drew much the same response. Other, white, anti-Brexit campaigners (Joanna Cherry, me) experienced nothing like this. /2
All you can do with this information is recognise the far heavier price that BAME women pay to be in this space. Props to them. /4

An honest argument that the Government should win the prorogation case by Professor Timothy Endicott, and worth reading. ukconstitutionallaw.org/2019/09/13/tim…
(FWIW, I think his points about Parliament being able to control prorogation do not, on analysis, stand up. But my real (respectful) disagreement with him is as to the question whether there is a legal (as opposed to a political) content to a decision to prorogue...
I believe the legal content is to be found in the role that Parliamentary sovereignty plays in our constitution. An act whose purpose is to thwart that role is an act with legal, and not just political, content.)

But note: unlike Prof Endicott I am not a constitutional lawyer.

I heard about this late last night & it gets even worse. Update soon. I AM livid. Over the past few months I knew @fordnation would cut the OAC, but I thought FOR SURE he’d never touch the Indigenous Culture Fund because there’s so much good work being done there. I was wrong.
And you know what REALLY pisses me off? It’s that @VicFedeliMPP comes out to our events, here on the reserve. He spends time in our presence watching our youngest little ones doing water ceremony, and our youth drum. One of those drummers teaches our Anishinaabemowin courses.
These are things I NEVER saw growing up. When I see young children speaking the language & singing it brings tears to my eyes. These children/youth have a jump start on the path back to what was almost lost. The ICF had so much potential to nuture these seeds, to help them grow.

Kinda interesting to think that having a TV channel nowadays doesn't require much more than a framework app and content.
Probably not subject to the FCC? Maybe? Probably?
The big hurdle wouldn't be content, I don't think. it would be publicity. You would have to market your app-channel pretty aggressively to get it noticed. Convince Entertainment Weekly or Variety to care.

I’m so done with freelancers being treated like s***. I chased a company for 4 MONTHS for a £250 invoice. It’s not amount the money, it’s about how they treat the people they choose to work with. I’m done with being timid & bullied by “big” companies with terrible admin.
The company in question told me it was because I hadn’t put an invoice number on the invoice. Which obviously I had. Which just makes me think it only reached their finance guy THIS WEEK after months of chasing.
I said to my boyfriend I was just going to “let it go” because I was so tired of chasing after they kept promising to sort it out and he asked me: would a guy just let it go?
