This thread will be more than one part. This first part will focus on the time after the 2016 US presidential election until the night prior to Inauguration Day.
The second part will cover from Jan 20th to July 27, 2017, the day of PapaD’s arrest.
I chose to focus PapaD’s activities and acquaintances during this time period because they have been far less discussed than his activities and acquaintances in the months prior to the election.
I’m fresh out of Joseph Mifsud takes.
The time period also interested me because there was very little happening in PapaD’s life that was Russia related.
Russia will inevitably come up, but the focus is elsewhere.
Now, I understand completely if you have questions about PapaD’s credibility. Totally fair.
Nevertheless, his book provides a unique timeline of events which can be checked against other sources. That’s valuable.
He also drops A LOT of names.
Also on Nov 9th, PapaD is contacted by Sergi Millian, who congratulates him on Trump’s victory.
The two men arrange to meet in Chicago to discuss future business opportunities.
On November 22nd, PapaD likes a facebook post about a London meetup between the Conservative Friends of Cyprus and the Conservative Friends of Israel.

Father Karloutsos has many powerful friends, including prominent Democrats.
PapaD claims that Karloutsos promised to help advance his career: “I’m going to get you together with Reince Priebus. It will help you get a job with the administration.”
Karloutsos invites Papadopolous to travel to Greece with him in December 2016.
PapaD accepts.
Once in Greece, Karloutsos introduces him to his contacts there.
On December 4th, PapaD gives a curious interview with Greek television. He presents himself as a representative of the incoming Trump administration.
PapaD tells Greek reporters he has a “blank check” for whatever position he wants in the administration.

Was he ever a part of the transition team? That’s an interesting question, one I address in the thread below.
On Dec 15, 2016, PapaD flies to Cyprus from Greece.
At some point, I should probably provide some historical background on Cyprus. It’s impossible to fully understand George Papadopolous without some familiarity with the island’s history.
Cyprus is caught in the middle of the rivalry between two larger powers, Greece and Turkey, who in turn are caught up in the rivalry between two even larger powers, the US and Russia.
But the Greek Cypriot leader, Archbishop Makarious, used better relations with the Russians as leverage in his battle against the Turkish Cypriots.

As most people who have followed Spygate know, there is a substantial Russian presence in Greek Cyprus today. Oleg Deripaska, for instance, is a citizen of both Russia and Cyprus.
Of course this brief history is vastly oversimplified. However, for the purposes of this thread, hopefully sufficient to give you an idea of the historical forces that have shaped PapaD’s foreign policy point of view.
Back to mid-December 2016: PapaD meets the president of the Cyprus Parliament, Demetris Syllouris, while visiting the island.
Syllouris introduces him to Jordan’s deputy prime minister of foreign affairs, Nasser Judeh.
Judeh tells PapaD, “Mr. Papadopoulos, I’m in touch with Michael Flynn. We’re looking forward to working with you.
PapaD says he’ll sends news of their meeting to “Mike Flynn in D.C”
I have a question for you: do you think President Trump has given a second of thought to sending American troops to Cyprus?
Me neither.
Where has George been for the previous six months?
Trump campaigned on the promise to DECREASE America’s overseas commitments.
PapaD tells the Cypriot president that he will pass along his statements to Mike Flynn and Steve Bannon.
“I email Flynn and others.”
All this is right out of PapaD’s book. He gives the definite impression that he’s a Trump surrogate, in touch with foreign officials and reporting to Mike Flynn.
I assume that the Post made sure to include the email that was the most suggestive that PapaD was an integral part of the incoming Trump administration.
