@JamesClear @david_perell @TaylorPearsonMe @rorysutherland You can make lot of situations ~ergodic if you divide yourself into a set of entities & make only one of them play games with no risk of gameover for the whole.

Eg:
- betting 1% of your wealth (Kelly criterion is about bringing as much as possible ergodicity in the non-ergodic).
@JamesClear @david_perell @TaylorPearsonMe @rorysutherland Ergodicity is as much a property of the activity as it is of the actor.

In general, we find that what is non-ergodic for one layer of actors is ergodic for an upper layer.

E.g. what is non-ergodic for an individual might be almost ergodic for a species.

Some activities… [2/3]
@JamesClear @david_perell @TaylorPearsonMe @rorysutherland …some activities are ergodic for an individual when directed to a lower layer of the individual, whereas they are non-ergodic when directed to the individual itself.

E.g., betting with your whole wealth vs betting with a time-adjustable fraction of your wealth.
