The way the DNC has handled debate qualifications has been pretty smart, I think.
One take of mine that isn't looking so hot right now is having thought, six months ago or so, that there was a decent chance of a contested convention with a factional vote divided several ways. Instead, Democratic voters have gravitated toward a smaller number of candidates.
While some candidates have their own "Candidate X or bust" factions, they aren't all that large. Sanders is just barely polling above the 15% delegate threshold. Buttigieg and Yang have their own enthusiastic constituencies, but they're small; 3-5% of the electorate.
