They say Pelosi should have waited to read Ukraine transcript but she wouldn't have gotten it w/o starting impeachment inquiry. Waiting would have given Trump more time to muddy the waters like Barr did to Mueller.
@eliehonig @joelockhart 2) Because #WhiteWashWillie Barr lied in his Mueller Report summary & Trump has lied over 12,000 times, there is no guarantee we will will ever see the original unaltered unredacted official transcript. Trump could have stonewalled forever. Pelosi could not let this happen.
@eliehonig @joelockhart 3) The Ukraine transcript released today is not a transcript, it's a memorandum style summary just like the fraudulent Mueller Report summary crafted by #WhiteWashWillie Barr. We need transcripts of all conversations that Giuliani & all administration staff had with Ukraine.
@eliehonig @joelockhart 4) The transcript Americans really need to see is the one from the meeting Trump has today with the leader of the Ukraine when Trump threatens him to not release a Ukraine transcript of the phone call that differs from the one the WH released this today. Trump can’t help himself
@eliehonig @joelockhart 5) McConnell & the GOP say Pelosi didn’t have enough evidence to start a Trump impeachment. Yet, impeachment is not a conviction, it is an indictment. She does not need a preponderance of evidence or proof beyond a reasonable doubt. Trump's own words give Pelosi probable cause
@eliehonig @joelockhart 6) Trump lead a racist birther movement for a decade with no proof at all. There are over a dozen other things being investigated as possible impeachable acts and Trump has ignored & forced other to ignore every subpoena. He has coerced witness into refusing to testify.
@eliehonig @joelockhart 7) It's a travesty we can’t trust the President of the United States. President Trump has dozens of ways to communicate with the leader of the Ukraine. Congress must interrogate all Trump staff who had any contact with the Ukraine & those on the call & subpoena all documents.
@eliehonig @joelockhart 8) Why was citizen Giuliani involved? Why did Trump warn Ukraine they would hear from Giuliani & Barr? Trump said America has done so much for Ukraine & he had a favor to ask. Barr should've recused himself from DOJ review of whether events the whistleblower reported were crimes
@eliehonig @joelockhart 9) Why did they read the secret transcript to Giuliani? He even said he wasn’t sure they read it in its entirety. It is obvious Ukraine was being pressured. I'm very concerned Trump will use his meeting today with the Ukraine leader to make sure they get their stories straight.

1st is the Biden ask.
2nd is the Crowdstrike angle
3rd is the Ukraine-Giuliani-Manafort-Trump-Putin connection described in the thread below which leads us right back to sabotage by the Russians

@CevallosLaw You told @AliVelshi on @MSNBC that @SpeakerPelosi should not begin impeachment process unless she thinks she can get the GOP senators to convict. I disagree. It should be based on probable cause for the reasons listed in the following tweet.
Reasons probable cause should be used to decide when to begin impeachment:
1) We can't predict what the Senate will do until we fully investigate
2) The jury (Senate) is currently compromised & corrupt. The suspect holds power over them. It's in their interest not to convict
3) There is no way to predict what the appellate courts and the Supreme Court will do. This another reason to develop & expose the truth
4) Impeachment is a political process. This means the American public is also the jury & they have a right to see & hear all the evidence.

I just want to follow up on this shocking conflict of interest case at @WHO, where the inventor of a newborn circumcision device, after applying for a patent, is invited to co-write the @WHO "manual" for performing newborn circumcision, touting his own device for mass use.
Again, the whole @WHO push for mass circumcision in Africa was based on studies of sexually active adults, circumcised (nominally) with their consent. There is no controlled evidence that newborn circumcision lowers risk of HIV in Africa or anywhere else; & newborns can't consent
Suggesting newborn circumcision has no negative effects on sexual outcomes, the device inventor & his @WHO co-authors exclusively cite studies of *adult* circ w/ limited follow-up, including one by Krieger, who ALSO has a patent out for a circ device: threadreaderapp.com/thread/1079164…

1/
The "appeal to nature" fallacy basically states that if something is "natural," it is good. If it is "unnatural," it is bad. This is often compelling to us because many of us, knowingly or unknowingly, attribute goodness to what appears "natural."

2/
It's also what drives companies, especially in the food industries and companies that sell body products, to market things as "all-natural." We live in an age of chemophobia, where chemicals are seen by many as bad b/c they are not "natural." No additives? Yes PLEASE! 😍

So @mistermegative has a great thread on the #ModernWarfare controversy that accurately sums up my feelings as an Iraq vet. But I want to approach this from a slightly diff. angle. We shouldn't even be having this conversation, and the fact that we are is an utter failure by IW.
10 years ago, I was one of the leading advocates against a similar bad idea, from another studio purporting to make a "realistic" depiction of war. Then too a developer wanted to appeal to prurient depictions of war's horrors while making a "compelling entertainment experience."
That game was the ill-fated "Six Days in Fallujah" from Konami, which has been "definitely not canceled" since 2009. Peter Tamte is still trying to fall on his sword to defend that abomination. Looking back at my criticisms of Six Days, it's overwhelming clear we learned nothing

On Oct 26 2006 Congress passed The Secure Fence Act 120 STAT. 2638 PUBLIC LAW 109–367 with 283 votes in the House & 80 in the Senate, including unanimous Democratic support. This included $20 billion in funding for multi layer fencing along about 600 miles of the US-Mexico border
This wasn't a solid 600 miles of continuous fencing along the border, this was bits and pieces, mostly erected with surplus Marston Mats used by the Military to laydown in areas that the ground isn't solid enough to handle landing gear, the military has mountains of it.
in 2007 Congress made clear it didn't really mean what it said. The new law was amended to make fence building optional. so you ended up with very little fencing and $20 billion pretty much unaccounted for, dispersed to heavens knows where. No one was held accountable for the $$
