I'm starting to suspect that people who tend to use metaphors like three dimensional chess, four dimensional chess, or especially twelve dimensional chess (!) have never actually tried playing a game of plain old two dimensional chess.
Chess isn't tic tac toe, people! It's almost certainly more complex than whatever mundane thing is being described as fourteen dimensional chess.
