That and Trump effectively has advocated decriminalizing foreign bribery through his opposition to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which he has called a “horrible law.”
It’s rather stunning how Trump has been allowed to pivot from effectively advocating legalizing foreign bribery to professing a sudden and convenient concern for Ukrainian corruption with hardly anyone bringing up the former position.
That and, of course, Ukrainian corruption was his jailed former campaign manager Paul Manafort’s bread, butter and ostrich jacket, in his service to ousted pro-Kremlin kleptocrat Viktor Yanukovych.
