Miller goes full-bore, authoritarian "deep state conspiracy" on nat'l TV. History will either be very kind to him (when the nation's textbooks are personally vetted by Ed Sec'y D'Souza) or very unkind to him (when the GOP either vanishes or recommits to constitutional democracy).
Here's a thread on this "deep state" narrative. tl;dr, that term was largely non-existent in Republican political messaging before 2017. It's genealogy traces to Alex Jones/Infowars, and also to various, other authoritarian states.
Ugh. "Its." And also, one wonders if the Trumps feel as much disdain for the "career low-level workers" who run their hotels and golf courses on a day-to-day basis as they do for the career employees who run our federal government on a day-to-day basis.
Oh, hey look, it's a book by liberty-loving GOP Senator Mike Lee where he claims that American history has always been about fighting the deep state, even though almost no Americans used the term until Trump took office! History-ish!
