@lillomontalto @euronews @UNHCRLibya . @EUDELtoLibya @UNHCRLibya @GermanAmbLBY what's the alternative to detention you are supporting in #Libya? A group of Sudanese refugees – including mothers, children & newborn babies - have been staying for 2 weeks in front UNHCR office, asking for support.

For 2 months, this group was staying in an abandoned storage facility, located some 400 metres from the UNHCR's Community Day Center (CDC) in Gurji. They have been evicted from the abandoned storage 2 weeks ago. Since then they are in the street.

Previously, the group was also evicted from Ahmed bin Shatwan school-shelter, also visited by Ghassan Salamé (PICS). They have been repeatedly displaced by armed conflict and lack of accommodations.

Since June 24, the so called protection cluster has been "busy" trying to find a solution for this group of Sudanese nationals, including newborn babies. In the note below is written that @OCHA_Libya was supposed to follow up the opening of additional shelters for non-Libyans.

#Libya The conflict has displaced more than 120,000 people from their homes & destroyed civilian infrastructure. I'm sure many Libyans are facing the same challenges, just as these families, but why international organisation on the ground are not supporting them?
