🚨 "We cannot support any proposal that suggests one party, or indeed a minority, in NI could make the decisions for the majority in terms of how these proposals would be implemented in the future. That wouldn't be consistent with the GFA, not something we could possibly support"
Coveney adds: Barnier taskforce "will not go into some kind of tunnel process" - transparency needed on these talks, he says
🚨 Coveney: "My judgement is that Boris Johnson does want a deal, and the paper published yesterday was an effort to move us in the direction of a deal... but I agree that if that is the final proposal, there would be no deal."
Coveney said this in reply to Sinn Féin's Martin Kenny, who says the proposals *would* grant the DUP a veto. "We will be calm, respectful but very firm on these issues. This isn't about cutting some kind of deal at the last minute."
Meanwhile the independent Unionist MP Sylvia Harmon - the only NI MP actually in the Commons chamber - has told Johnson that he doesn't understand NI, that the DUP doesn't represent NI, that NI voted remain and PM's plan creates two borders... Johnson reply is polite but evasive
Labour MP for Chester says a customs post 20 miles from the border is still a hard border

PM says there has been "a fiscal border" for many years already, and customs checks need not mean infrastructure of any kind
