Shaver also increased his LNG holdings just prior to the signing of an E.O. that gave Chao the responsibility for rolling back LNG transportation safety regulations.
Chao divested ~$1M from her brother in law’s offshore fund just before her nomination.
There are many, many reasons why Elaine Chao’s actions and connections deserve Congressional scrutiny. The DOT’s letter to Congressman Cummings does nothing to discredit the legitimate oversight of her activities.
