30 minutes late but it’s time for #FemmeTalk ✨✨✨✨
We’re giving all the keys when it comes to job searching for a job/career you’ll love and a few tips to land that position ✨ tune in now!
Job searching for you should be more than just finding something to make ends meet. While some may think that this option is a luxury, it’s actually a mindset and serves as a basis that will follow you into your position if you’re not truly happy with what you’re doing.
A valuable tip we’ve learned from reading Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is to "begin with the end in mind". This means to basically move in your ideal or your legacy. For example, if you want your own business in retail
It would be smart to enter into retail. Depending on your experience you can start out in a high level position, but if you’re starting entry level then there’s a special mindset you need to develop.

First things first this is not just your job.
Your job is a very important part of your life that impacts more than just being able to pay your bills. Your job affects your health, your social life, your home life, your children’s life if you have them. It’s a central part of your life because of the time you’ll spend there.
So no lackluster jobs.
Instead, do an aligned search for what your end goals are.

Find a position that you feel is paying you to learn most of what you need for your personal development.

You can start by making two list.
The first list:

What is my dream career?
(Your end goal)

What am I passionate about?
(Your motivations)

What do I look like in this position? (Your wardrobe/a tool in landing positions)

What jobs best fit my current life and goals?
(Your accountability)
Your second list: this is what you’ll use when conducting your actual search.

What are my ideal hours?
What will commuting cost me?
What are the benefits?
Is this a company I will spend the next 5-10 years with
(5 being a minimum for slow and steady goals!)
Mindset developed?

Great! Let’s get this into the physical form. You’ll need a resume to reflect your goals.
We like to use @canva for most templates because it’s clean, versatile, fun and still professional.
Here’s a few templates we loved when we searched "resume" ✨
Our personal tips for a great resume?

•No more than 2-3 pages
•Eye catching templates (it’s 2019 it’s okay to have some personality)
•A well worded executive summary
•Skill/keyword job descriptions
•Emphasis in your skills section
This is why we started our #FemmeChallenge of learning 1 new skill per quarter. We like to keep our ladies’ brains as sharp as their looks ✨
Now. You’ve got the mindset, the resume and the...uh ohhhh, can’t forget about the look!

Dressing for the position you want is a key that many overlook because they think "appearances don’t matter". Well, they do.
They aren’t ALL that matters, but they indeed do.
Would you hire a candidate that was qualified on paper but showed up in sweats?

Of course not.
The tone would scream lazy or arrogant and neither are what you want to send when doing an interview.
Dressing well is a manner of presentation, the inner and the outter.
Femme law no. 1: You can never be overdressed, only underdressed ✨

You always always always dress for the job you want and not the job you have. The majority will make funny statements but they will also be in the same positions due to lack of effort. Show up who you want to be
Now that you have the mindset, the resume, and the look to match, let’s get to searching!
As a professional @LinkedIn is the best thing to happen since indeed. You can network while seeking opportunities or as we like to say "creating your own opportunities" have a good profile!
Our tips when job searching??
