Whilst there are plenty of posters and stickers of protest art, there are also large statement pieces. These range from big pieces of graffiti, Lennon walls or unique art pieces. Here I'll thread my favourite statement art pieces.
This #BirdFoldingChallenge piece was particularly striking. Beautifully arranged in a circular shape, by peaceful protesters. And just a few blocks away blackbloc protesters were gathering, ready for a confrontation.
More birds in Causeway Bay, this time strung across some poles where road barriers once were. This was at the back of the protests and not very many people would have seen these strings. 
Another "hidden" piece of protest art. These little flags are parodies of the official police ones, and were just near a rubbish bin. One reads "Liberate Hong Kong, glory of our times".
The airport protests were very peaceful and extremely artistic. Sitting in a peaceful and air-conditioned space means many people were able to unleash their creativity. Huge rows of art and posters could be seen from above.
On October 1 protesters went to Causeway Bay to protest China National Day. They threw joss paper, offerings for dead people. Whilst it was disappointing to see so much litter on the ground, it was definitely a big 🖕 to the CCP.
