Contrary to what Democrats and the online left will have you believe, due process applies in both the House inquiry and the Senate trial.

In fact, the Supreme Court recognizes that due process must be protected during all Congressional investigations.

When Bill Clinton was the subject of impeachment, Democrat Jerry Nadler said the House had to protect the right to:

✅Confront witnesses against you
✅Call your own witnesses
✅Have assistance of counsel

Today the House has ignored these rights.

The President has the right to cross-examine witnesses.

Clinton's lawyer questioned Ken Starr in House Judiciary.

Nixon's lawyer questioned 9 witnesses.

This right was expressly stated in procedures adopted by the Judiciary Committee during both proceedings.

(3/5)
Procedures adopted by Judiciary Committee for Clinton & Nixon invited the president and his counsel to attend all hearings, including those in executive session.

President Clinton's lawyers were able to call and question 14 witnesses in front of the Judiciary Committee.

In every other impeachment inquiry, the full House has voted to authorize it.

Under current House rules, no committee has authority to open an inquiry by itself.

Committees can only do what House rules say they can & no committee has jurisdiction over impeachment.
