Oof. I gotta stay out of the comments on the Channel 3000 FB post of the story about me twerking with Lizzo. These body shaming, sex shaming, racist sexist trolls are really gonna try to put a damper on this shine and I rebuke it yall. I rebuke it.
I also rebuke the notion that my shaking my ass in public somehow diminishes my work as a scholar or my potential as an educator. I am excellent at my job. I am good at twerking. I do not need to hide either of these things. I am allowed to have pleasure.
My students benefit from a joyful educator who practices what she preaches regarding self-love & rejecting internalized oppression. I know that in a racist, sexist, homophobic, fatphobic, ableist world I am supposed to hate & hide my body. I do not. I will not.

Good morning followers new and old! I really appreciate your support of me & #twerkwithlizzo. I’m practicing self-restraint & not looking at the comments on the stories, just at what people tweet directly at me.
When I’m not twerking with Lizzo, I am a scholar of black feminist theory & disability studies, currently on leave from teaching. I often tweet about scholarship, activism, & politics, but also pop culture, fashion & makeup. One work thing I often do is tweet about my #goals.
I try to model SMART (specific, measurable, achieveable, relevant, time-based) goal-making for academics. Today’s #goals:
-Catch up on email (1hr or less)
-Write award acceptance speech for Friday (1.5 hrs or less)
-Give feedback on a paper (1.5hrs or less)
-Read for 1 hr

Also, @iamcardib is a prime example of someone who is intelligent, sexual, & clearly a joyful momma but ppl wanna disparage her bc she shakes that ass in public. You can be a mother who twerks, a professor who twerks, a doctor who twerks...
This is all about boundaries & context. I don’t twerk while I’m teaching. I know how to be a professional but the rules of workspace not apply throughout my entire personal life, even if that personal life is sometimes public.

("Ex parte" is Latin for "from." An ex parte communication is one coming from only one party, not providing any notice to the other party. Basically the opposite of a letter copied to opposing counsel, filed publicly, and served via the electronic filing system.)

The motion is weak and the basis is LOLable, but my suspicion is that the judge will grant it (though likely for less than 3 weeks)

Defendants will argue the burden is on Plaintiff to show good cause (the motion doesn't do that), plus ongoing harassment

Positive for the Defendants. He gives their attorneys lots of usable material

A good rule of thumb as y'all see an assortment of "bUt ThEy LiEd UnDeR oAtH" tweets from conVics is that they're typically projecting – accusing others of the things they themselves or R.Broly have done
