In June 2015, a constitutionally legitimate Parliament decided, by 544 votes to 53 that a binary In/Out, expressed as Remain/Leave, referendum be held on Britain’s #EU membership

In June 2016, by a majority of over 1 million, and in the biggest democratic mandate for one specific policy in UK political history, the electorate voted in that referendum to Leave.

That vote to Leave was not qualified in any way,
It was not subject to any conditions.
It was not a vote to Leave only partially.
It was not a vote to Leave in name only,
It was not a vote to leave but only subject to a deal.
It was a vote to just Leave. Full stop.

Vital to remember that, even if May’s gone as PM by tonight, we’d still have same Cabinet that was prepared to back her #BrexitBetrayal at every stage, from #Chequers onwards.
Her going is only the pre-condition for the change that's needed: it *isn't* the change by itself.
Even if May is no longer PM by tomorrow morning, that's still no reason to vote @Conservatives in #EUElections2019.
Most of the Cabinet/Govt aren't ditching her b/c they violently disagree with her BRINO, only b/c they're worried she'll get them thrashed by the @brexitparty_uk.
@brexitparty_uk Even if May gone, we almost certainly still have ardent Remainer Lidington as stopgap Acting PM, + May-ite Brexit-as-damage-limitation, i.e., soft as possible, still dominant in Cabinet, several of whom would be vying for PM.
Zero reason not to still vote for the @brexitparty_uk.

 Some brief initial thoughts on *possible* - b/c it’s by no means unequivocally guaranteed by her reported wording – May resignation & Tory leadership contest.

 May requires WA to pass in order to trigger her resignation, but has no majority without DUP backing.
DUP still say won’t back it, so unlikely to pass even if all Tory MPs voted for it, which they won’t.
So no WA passed, no resignation?

 Tories have no majority without DUP backing, even for ordinary Parliamentary business.
Electing new leader/PM while having HoC majority might be OK, but not with no majority.
General election needed..

Let me tell you about my experience with misogyny this weekend.
First, some background so that you’ll see the whole picture. Growing up I was never told that I couldn’t do something just because I was a girl. For all of his faults,
my dad never made me feel like I was weak just because I’m female. He taught me firearm safety & how to shoot a gun. He taught me how to maintain a car and make repairs. He came from a line of carpenters and was a general contractor.
So, he taught me how to use & work w/a variety of tools and how to build things. I spent a lot of time working on job sites w/him. He made sure I understood how to think ahead and understand the process from beginning to end.

Spending the morning reading academic papers on Hermes Birkin Bags. So many interesting factoids about collectibles/ stores of value. In no particular order:
1/ Strong quality narrative bordering on folklore.

* Takes 18 hours to hand-make
* Artisans require 2 years of training
* Trainees are hired from a prestigious leather-making school
* Meticulous inspections that, if failed, result in the bag being destroyed
2/ "Secrecy and success seem to be quite correlated when it comes to the
Birkin"

"The only thing Hermès wants you know about the
bag’s availability is that you probably can’t get one.”

Boutiques don't know how many they'll get. Hermes doesn't publish sales numbers.

Now that I have invoked the names of the great "Harvard" educated person. Let me break down what he has actually done! And as he claims he wouldn't have taken ~6 months to complete this paper, max would be a month. Ok diving into this... 1/n
I'm giving a layman's explanation of this so I will refrain from using complicated terms:
1. Get the Revised GDP growth rates from 2011-2017, do a correlation with all publicly available data like auto sales, credit growth, petroleum consumption, IIP data.. etc 2/n
Conclude that the correlation levels are not high enough
2. Use the same GDP data and find out the growth rates vs the same set of data & conclude that the relationship is haphazard (which is normal)
3. Using above two initial tests conclude that GDP is overestimated 3/n
