It doesn’t seem to have been signed off by Gov specialists in impact assessments but by James Dudderidge.

This looks very weird to me but we could use some expert eyes on it.

It doesn’t look much like any impact assessment in content or form that I have seen to date.
A completely random selection, to take an example says of Fisheries.

That makes a lot of assumptions (not least we get that Fisheries Act through)

What red tape will apply to fish caught in the NI waters territory for instance? I am quite confused.

If Labour wanted a motion backed they should have drafted one that, if capable of implementation, was not dangerous & detrimental to the NHS. I see Starmer’s name was not on it. He would have at least checked the Act in question first

Until Labour turned it into a political point scoring exercise that has backfired.

Might be worth having a closer look before you jump to conclusions.

1/. It is a regret motion (it doesn’t actually repeal the H&SC Act. Merely regrets that the Gov has not put repealing legislation in the Queen’s Speech.
@juliefair 2/. I wouldn’t vote for it anyway without have plenty of time to go through each provision in the Act. Should the whole Act be repealed.

Are there parts we need to keep?

Is it better to amend it? In what ways. I certainly wouldn’t go “Oh yes. Let’s!” So carelessly.
@juliefair I thought...you know...just to show some very basic due diligence..that I had better have a little look at the Act that they propose appealing (without suggesting alternative provisions.

All over 300 provisions PLUS 23 Schedules.

It’s strange. I have noticed in discussions that men seem far more inclined to drive towards an election, women to hold back and still keep trying for a GNU.

I don’t see an election “solving” anything at all.

I do see the possibility of it making everything exponentially worse
As for it “helping” Labour to have one prior to Brexit being settled.

No idea where that comes from looking at the polls.

Not one or two. But the long settled trends, including a marked downward turn v 2017 on Corbyn.

Last night's incident in Gaza was a routine operation gone wrong, not an assassination attempt that would have escalated the situation.
The unit executing the op, Sayeret Maglan, routinely installs devices necessary for the collection of SIGINT beyond enemy lines.

Last night, he declared loudly that he is not Presidnet Of The United States. He delcared that he is nothing more than leader of his base. He was elected, could have been different. Instead, he gives the middle finger to everyone but his base and Russia.

His advisers tell us that he is a counterpuncher. I love boxing and they are wrong. He is more of a street fighter style aggressor, constantly swinging and attacking, often wildly with puches that are innacurate and fail to land.
The problm for his style, fighters like him get hit often, and eventually they do get knocked out. Last night he missed wildly. Americans who actually do love America, fight back. #OrangeWaveInNovember.
