Might be worth having a closer look before you jump to conclusions.
1/. It is a regret motion (it doesn’t actually repeal the H&SC Act. Merely regrets that the Gov has not put repealing legislation in the Queen’s Speech.
Are there parts we need to keep?
Is it better to amend it? In what ways. I certainly wouldn’t go “Oh yes. Let’s!” So carelessly.

Sure. Repeal it with nothing to replace it?
No. I don’t think so.
Stuff on Fuoridation of Water? Yes. I might want to keep that.
Other stuff dealing with the discharge if Mental Health Patients.
Yes. I’d be worried about appealing that without a lot of cre about what would replace it.

No way I would just be blithely repealing this.
It would take me a very very long time to go through each provision AND ALL the related legislation that it purposes to amend.



One would have thought that they would have at least managed to flick through those and consider that maybe a bit more time and trouble and consultation would pay off.
