listened to the kanye album. rap isnt my thing but i thought it was pretty cool. maybe its because i inhabit a certain “convert” archetype but i think its rad and makes me feel some level of camaraderie and thus empowerment when i hear other guys also trying to “straighten out”
its not to a delusional level like people are caricaturing on here like “wow so now you guys all love based hip hop artist and think hes gonna save the world” but its just cool hearing someone be real and put out art that is wholesome / spiritual, obviously im on that wavelength
also kind of surreal, i was listening to “water” on there and im so used to everything thats of normal popular culture being overtly satanic that its just kind of a trip to hear something really wholesome and positive and think that normies are out there actually listening to it
im also enjoying confirmation that there is some alternative vector of momentum developing towards more christian and theological energy manifesting and becoming part of culture at different levels and in new ways. i think the scene here shifting is also a manifestation of that
the only real unique insight that i may have is that, im interested to see where it goes from here. im very familiar with being an artist (different kind but whatever) that has one symbol set and way of using information that then shifts over to the christian informational matrix
so to some extent i know what that process can be like and, i think its interesting to see how an artists vibe changes and deepens while still being contained within that new structure and framework theyve chosen.
for example for me when i made the switch at first it was just like, CROSSES, all my art has crosses now, that was it, but then as it developed i began to reintegrate old symbols or start to use new ones within the new framework i had, naturally my way of doing things developed.
so im interested to see what that means for someone like him i guess, im not a musician or lyricist so i can only draw parallels with the visual arts but i imagine its similar. you can only say or do the same thing as an artist so many times before building on it + changing it up
only listened to the first few kanye albums back in the day, stopped at beautiful dark twisted fantasy as it really was not my vibe so, thats my take as an outsider. its cool in a few ways despite my abject hatred of celebrities and pop culture and hollywoodism in general.
