Overrated: data

Underrated: gut feel
Data is about observations from the past. And the past is not always an indicator of the future.

Sometimes no data is better than some data. No map is better than a bad map.

Or take the turkey problem:
Our gut feel has evolved over millions of years to deal with the present & future in a reliable manner.

Unfortunately, it suffers from a lot of biases & logical fallacies that are unhelpful in a modern world. But suppressing it blindly would be foolish. Better to reason with it.
That turkey would have been better off smelling something fishy instead of making a conclusion based on (a lot) of past data.

Our gut feel has evolved to protect us from becoming the turkey.
