Two years ago today I met the love of my life. Let me set the scene...
Aight so boom. October 28, 2017. It's homecoming weekend at the University of Michigan. I graduated in 2016 so it's my first year back as an Alumni so I'm lit. @ReliveTheBAR has their annual tailgate and my frat brothers and I role out.
We get to strolling and out of my peripheral I see someone recording...
She was so cold she made me forget the chant that went with the stroll 😂 that's why I wasn't even verbally participating 🤷🏾‍♂️😅
Once the stroll is done I start mingling and chopping it up with people, but she still in the back of my mind.
I'mma punk when it comes to approaching women so I had no intentions of shooting a shot lol. I just wanted to be seen and maybe she'll shoot hers. 🤷🏿‍♂️
I see her and her friend walk past me and they had these really dope matching Michigan sweaters, so I in passing, I go "yall sweaters are dope!" they say "thanks!" and I kept it pushing... In my head im like "step 1) get verbally noticed: ACCOMPLISHED"
About 30mins goes by and I see her again, standing by herself drinking, sooo I grab me a cup and go stand near her (about 15ft away) and not say anything at all, like the creep. I'm just standing there like
Her friend comes back so I slowly move back to my bruhs and we turning up again. Peep them in the front when Real Love comes on 😂
About ANOTHER hour passes. And me and homies are flicking it up. But it was this pic, that set up everything (look in background to the right of my head)
In the moment I ain't even peep she was back there, but I just thought the lighting was dope and I ain't even get any individual shots for the gram! 😂 So I'm like aye, Dkari (the guy with the hat) take this pic for me over here
I get on this pile of wood and get in my model bag and Dkari starts snapping 😂 but before I get TOO deep in my bag...
I feel an arm over my shoulder. Guess who it is? 😎
She then proceeds to say "Soo I just wanna let you know that you're my future husband" and I'm like "Oh word??" Ironically, Dkari is still snapping and my "live photos" were on
From there... The rest is history. 😎

Two years ago today I was raped after blacking out at a party. I spent two years fighting my case, which was dismissed last month. The prosecutors said they could not prove my “lack of consent”.. well I can.
That night I received a citation from the police for being a minor in consumption of alcohol. They even tried to put me in an ambulance for being “unresponsive”. There is body camera footage of this taking place.
Not to mention this literal confession from my rapist.. cases are dismissed based on insufficient evidence. Does this look insufient to y’all??

Two years ago today, I was at an intersection in Charlottesville, with other antifascists and anti-racists, when a white supremacist rammed his car into the crowd.

The whole world sent thoughts and prayers.

But two years later, the US seems more fascist and racist than ever.
The first thing I heard, coming from the uphill side of the crowd, was a low death roar. I knew something terrible was happening.

I looked over and saw a grey minivan knocking into people. This was one of two cars that the white supremacist had hit, which stood mid-crowd.
The next moments were a blur.

I dashed without hesitation to the minivan, and realized that it had just been rear-ended.

Blood and injured people were everywhere. I joined a team helping a woman who was severely bloodied. It turned out all four of her limbs were broken or hurt.

Two years ago today, white nationalists gathered in #Charlottesville to spread a message of bigotry and intolerance. Their hate-fueled rally culminated in the deaths of three Americans.
Today we remember Heather Heyer, who was killed when a white nationalist drove his car into the crowd of counter-protesters, and Lt. Jay Cullen and Trooper-Pilot Berke Bates, who died in a helicopter crash as they tried to bring stability to the city.
As we mark two years since this tragedy, I stand with the families of those we lost as well as the entire Charlottesville community in denouncing bigotry and radicalism in every form.

I think it’s worth a Thread.
This thread captures history from various perspectives all blended together to reveal a fuller picture.

It shows that Saro-Wiwa was also human like any of us but he was exceptionally courageous and dogged in spite of his human flaws.
Saro-Wiwa was a diminutive man who invariably always smoked a pipe and was considered quite brilliant.

He wrote a popular play which was adapted for TV when we were younger “Basi and Company”.

He was from Ogoni - an oil-producing area in Rivers State which has several villages.
