Yami propositioned Yama for intercourse. Yama rejected. Beautifully worded.
Yama says “your sakhā does not wish for this kind of sakhya. Because by doing so, a relation that is sama (even/same) will turn into vishama (odd/wrong/adharma). The children of mahāprgnāvāna asura who hold dyau and prithvi (should) have gravitas and are all seeing”

Yama dharma rāja visits his sister Yami on this day every year for a meal. Therefore, brothers all over must visit their sisters today, have a meal at her place.
