Hmm some confusion though as earlier house authorities thought report stage could be skipped...
Won’t be report stage if govt talks out committee stage which looks like that’s exactly what they’re doing.

Right. It's going to be the longest day of parliamentary drama you have ever experienced. And it kicks off now.
The Speaker, John Bercow, is currently deciding what to do about the election for the new Speaker, given it is now ramming right up against the election debate.
Basically it comes down to: Do they hold the Speaker's election before or after the election? Bercow said he was standing down on October 31st. But some want him to hold out for after the election.

This programme investigates the claim that young trans identified people need fast, surgical intervention as otherwise they may end their lives. The claim that 40% of young transidentified people will attempt suicide.
There is currently a law being proposed that 15 year olds should be able to access surgery, with or without parental consent.

We start with Aleksa Lindberg, a transwoman who went through transition quite some years ago. Aleksa seems very level headed and explains very clearly
her experience of dysphoria from a young age.

The presenter agrees that this has been essential help for trans identified people, but that their has been a worrying increase of young girls identifying as trans many of whom have several other psychological diagnoses.

Look, we as a country have a way to to solve this debate about people having guns vs those that think guns should be outlawed. The founders placed this procedure in the Constitution. It's called the amendment process.
If the left can get 2/3rds of both houses of Congress and 3/4ths(38) of the States to agree to ban guns, guns will be banned the next day. Until such time, the law of the land is the 2A. They have been unable to achieve that. So instead, they push for ways around the process.
I'm not too thrilled with 18 year olds voting in today's world. They are far less mature and knowledgeable today than even 20 years ago. They are still considered non adults by some laws until the age 25. They can't legally drink until 21. So why should they vote?

I woke up to half a dozen people criticizing me for supporting lowering the voting age to 16. But before you send a similar note my way, you should know I think the actual voting age should be 12. rollingstone.com/politics/polit…

Other than “it might be popular with young people” can you give me one credible reason that votes at 16 should be introduced?
I’ve let the votes at 16 thread run for a while and there have been a good number or responses.

The pro votes at 16 arguments cluster around a number of areas which I will address and then explain why I think it’s not a good idea. 1.
“Decisions made by politicians will affect them longer.”

This is true, but it’s just as true (even more so) for 15, 14, 13 year olds etc. If we accept that children (I’ll come on to this later) aren’t the same as adults we need to have a cut off age. 2.
