I agree. I have made my views on what I will not be voting Labour clear, but how people vote in our political system of huge conglomerate parties, where we vote for individuals only, where there are few choices, is a matter of balance and is ultimately for people's consciences
I wouldn't extend that choosing to vote for small, explicitly racist parties such as BNP/EDL/whatever Tommy Robinson supports now (UKIP), but I understand why people want to stay and fight in Labour. Not me though.
I do think that people who do 'stay and fight' run the risk of moral peril - as do Republicans in the US who stick with Trump because they feel he is overall useful even though he's a racist, demagogue etc. But it's a matter for them and I do understand why it's not easy
