bellamy brown is a candidate for city council who does NOT now nor has he ever already served on city council. his answers at candidate forums are usually just word salad so maybe this is a weird mistake in wording, but he telling voters that he’s already a city councilor.
it’s weird because there IS a current member of city council named wes bellamy and surely this isn’t an attempt to confuse voters into thinking they are re-electing an incumbent.
his entire candidacy has been really off putting. he grew up here, but has been gone for 20 years. he moved home last year and now he thinks he can save us from ourselves? buddy, you don’t even go here!
he presents himself as an outsider and independent, yet received campaign contributions from two sitting democratic councilors in the form of donations from heather hill’s husband and mike signer’s PAC. two people who would do anything to make life harder for nikuyah walker.
having seen bellamy brown at a couple of candidate forums, i cannot emphasize enough that he has absolutely no policy positions or ideas at all. he never answers a question. he doesn’t know or understand a single thing about local politics.
the ONLY position i have ever seen bellamy brown articulate clearly is that he doesn’t believe public housing should exist. he has expressed no plan for any kind of alternative.
i find it really difficult to believe the vendor would make such an extreme change in the copy without confirmation from the campaign and that the vendor can’t do anything about it until the day before the election
