1. I hear that, but you're missing why the fall of Beto is so particularly satisfying. First, his 2018 press coverage was absurdly, unearnedly hagiographic. It's always worth reminding people what a fraud that was.
2. Second, Beto's campaign was centered around a nasty, self-righteous attack on the way of life of political opponents - pledging to go after their churches & guns. The open id of the Online Left. That deserves mockery.
3. Third, Beto's loudest amen corner was the Obama Bro crowd, which has been notably vicious about kicking political foes when down. And the people they hate most & kick nastiest are the Ryan/Rubio style Republicans, precisely for not being mean, crude or ignorant.
4. What goes around comes around in this business. People who act like they'll never be on the losing side & who can't abide the concept there might be decent people on the other side, deserve the joy of their choices.
