Colleges found mechanical, electrical, electronics engg "teachers" in non-descript places like Bundi, Jhunjhunu - then people wonder why we have so many unemployable engineers :)

Another interesting trend - a lot of #business #management colleges in Mumbai, Pune, BLR, HYD (but not in Delhi, Kolkata etc)

Wonder if their relevance will vanish with so many new #IIMs being opened

North campus of DU still remains one of the most largest, vibrant contiguous patches - and quite green, hopefully well insulated from #DelhiSmog #DelhiPollution #DelhiAirPollution #DelhiChokes

Mumbai never really managed to make a cosmopolitan cluster - probably because it is much harder for students from outside to find accomodation there

Has some good old colleges though - Wilson, Sophia etc

and then we have "colleges" run by educators like these ⬇️

"Police on October 16 arrested the chancellor of a private a university for paying contract killers Rs1 crore .. to kill the former vice-chancellor"

It is not lack of regulation, it is pointless regulation (eg: capping class sizes at 60 for a program) which has created so many poor-quality universities by artificially restricting the intake of good ones -- can easily run electronics, computing, informatics programs with 200+
US has ~ 4700 degree-granting institutions

We have 30k+ regular colleges + 10k+ AICTE-affiliated(tech/engg/management ones) !!
Full fledged industry created by capping class-sizes.

half decent high-schools in India is barely 10k
(among 25k CBSE/ISC + the huge state-board num)
