You're in the US, so you should know better, but benefit of the doubt: The interviewer & Olson-Kennedy are talking IN THE VIDEO about cross-sex hormones at 12/13 (happening in US for years) & whether they have capacity to consent to being sterilized.
Starting about 17:45 in the vid, bioethicist/pediatrician Margaret Moon questions capacity of kids to consent to x-sex hormones. NBC interviewer probes Olson-Kennedy re: sterilizing 12-13 yr olds. Olson admits we "don't have the data" to know who will be a trans adult, but says 
that 12 and 13 year olds "make the decision" to kill themselves. It's right there in the 2012 video for anyone to see: The choice is sterilizing a middle schooler (because the interviewer SAYS the kid is sacrificing fertility) or suicide.
So the people who keep insisting (disingenuously or not) that "no child is being medically transitioned" (unless they believe 12 or 13 is an adult) aren't listening to the top clinicians in the gender field who say it THEMSELVES--and who have published papers on it.
For posterity and in case of blockage. Why they keep saying this in the face of incontrovertible evidence is a true mystery.
