Dr. Webberley appears to think highly of Dr Johanna Olson-Kennedy and US gender affirmative care.

US: cross-sex hormones for 8 yr olds, double mastectomies for 13 yr olds, hysterectomies for 16 yr olds, genital surgeries for <18 yr olds. This is not something to strive for.

I'm really tired of people chastising parents, accusing us of not allowing our kids to "explore their gender." Like it's a wonderful journey, so special and full of sparkles and rainbows.

Well, my daughter "explored her gender" for a while and was absolutely miserable. /1
Not because I was restricting her in clothing, haircuts, or interests. (I didn't.) But because she got the idea in her head (thanks Tumblr) that testosterone would make her feel better. And I said, "Hold on, let's think things through." /2
The gender journey stressed her out. Lots of Tumblrites tell of the importance of becoming your "authentic self"by transitioning, warning that otherwise you'll be miserable for the rest of your life and will likely kill yourself. /3

Question your own attitudes. Don’t be defensive when something you do or say ends up hurting someone else. Try hard to understand how your own attitudes & actions might inadvertently perpetuate sexism and violence, & work towards changing them.

I clearly recall how I escaped the situation & how clueless he was of my fear. He was happy & laughing and not understanding why I wouldn’t come home with him. He even called me weeks later to ask me to lunch. I didn’t know who he was because I’d blocked his name from my mind 2/
What’s I do not remember is exactly who was at the party we’d just left. I recall two people. I do not remember whether I heard anyone talking nearby while I was attacked. I do not remember how loud the music was or wasn’t at the party. 3/
