Lies, Damn Lies and Jonathan Gruber

5 years ago I wiped this guy off the chess board. But he's back. So its time to play whack-a-lying-leftist-wonk again.

Yesterday he was interviewed along with economist Jon Kingsdale on Boston radio about M4A: wbur.org/radioboston/20…
The topic of discussion was Elizabeth Warren's Medicare for All proposal. Gruber and Kingsdale come into the conversation around the 5 minutes into the segment.
In response to Warren's insane assumptions on how to pay for this, Gruber says "...you quibble on them" then calls her plan the "most credible out there for paying for it." Then blames politics for anything that happens next for what economically is a "sensible plan."
Kingsdale notes that Warren's assumptions (that Gruber didn't want to "quibble on") as not credible.
Kingsdale brings up an incredibly important point that M4A "would increase the use of services incredibly" because there's no out of pocket, which means there "won't be enough doctors and hospitals; you'll have a lot of queues."
When Gruber is asked about this, he completely skips over this extremely important point that taking out of pocket costs away in fact increases usage. Instead he focuses on paying doctors.
To his credit, Kingsdale will have none of Gruber's crap, calling out Gruber on how, w/out cost sharing, demand for service will increase usage by at least 14%.

Gruber knows this. This is the basis of the Cadillac Tax Gruber helped sneak into the ACA then called Am ppl STUPID.
Now here's the really scary part. When asked if either of them is advising a campaign, Kingsdale says NO. Gruber says "I've seen a couple of the plans but I'm not advising anyone OFFICIALLY."
Gruber is still very dangerous. Just in this one segment, in typical Gruber fashion, he ignored an obvious problem for M4A (waiting lines, which Kingsdale essentially smacks him across the head about) & then qualified that he is in fact advising campaigns but not "officially."
Oh. Last point that's not part of the segment. Warren's plan is to cover, in her words, "everyone in America," not just "every American." So those here illegally will be covered, and with open borders, so will everyone else in the World that crosses the border.
