A couple scenes from POTUS event tonight: He asked if Sen. Lisa Murkowski was there and she wasn’t. “She hates me. I kind of like her but she really doesn’t like me. We do so much for Alaska you’d think we’d get her vote for something one of these days,” POTUS said.
He said Sen. Joni Ernst pesters him relentlessly on ethanol. “Let me just tell you, she’s never happy. No matter what we give her: 15%, 12 months, you name it. She’s asking for more. I’m like, Joni, there isn’t enough corn in America to get what you want done. She’s relentless.”
POTUS said McConnell asked him not to tweet for months until one day he wanted a bill passed. He said McConnell then asked him to tweet support. “I’m a believer now!” POTUS said the senate majority leader told him.
"You didn't like me at first, admit it," Trump told Sen. Thom Tillis, the North Carolina Republican, asking him to stand up. "Admit it, you like me now." Then jokes that Tillis calls all the time and wants money for North Carolina.
