Idea for anyone who wants it: detect which colleges have tried hardest to game college rankings. I know from spam filtering that bad guys leave statistical tracks they don't realize they're leaving, and I'm sure colleges that gamed the system didn't think of this.
The results should, of course, be presented in the form of a ranked list.

If you set up a Kickstarter page for this project, and you seem like you know what you're doing, I'll donate to it.
Incidentally, this could be the kind of project that leads to a startup. Once you're good at detecting cheating, you'll be an expert on college rankings. Then you create your own non-bogus rankings, which could be the seed crystal of lots of things.
