How can we find peace within our polarities, when we are in a state of conflict or dynamic tension with those of opposite polarity and who want/see things differently than we do?
We each see things differently, but tend to band together with others who share aspects of life the way we do. Think political parties, where individuals of similar perspectives join in pursuit of common or similar interests.
Like in politics, there is always an opposing side with views and interests to advance that differ from our own. Our polarities make it hard to coexist, yet somehow we must.
Yet despite our differing polarity, we are all of the same source, the one inimitable creator, here to exercise free will and learn how to love and be loved through its exercise.
Conflict between differing polarities is inevitable. It's how our dualistic universe operates, pitting us against each other in combat that often feels like a winner take all death match.
Compromising our core beliefs is hard. Like Woody Hayes said about ties, it's like kissing your sister. Our passion goes unsatisfied and the thrill of victory is missing.
Few seek the middle path like Buddha encouraged. Rather, we fight to get our way. Thus politics is the game that it is, where we strive to impose what we want on an unwritten future, thinking it will be better than what our opposites want. And the fight rages on.
What value does our conflict offer our souls who've come to this world to learn to love and be loved? Could it be to experience our helplessness to get others to see and go our way? Or is it to overcome the desires of our polarity and find a way forward together?
How can love be used to create peace between opposites when all they want to do is fight for what they want? Forgiveness? Turn the other cheek? Give to Cesar (others) that which is Cesar's (what they want)? They all sacrifice our desires to the will of others.
If you want to love and be loved, you must find a way to make peace with those of opposing polarity. If you want peace, you must learn to love them as you love yourself. And that just might mean sacrificing what you want to gift them their desires.
Understanding the tests and lessons of our evolution is easy; applying them challenges all that we are, want and know ourselves to be. Peace and love go hand in hand. You know the way. I bid you godspeed.
