It is quite clear from verses in Quran and authentic sayings and traditions of Mohamed that Islam is inherently misogynistic and enslaves women. Apologetics will point out that Mohamed abolished burying daughters alive and gave women the right to inheritance.
This is compared to the standards of pre-Islamic Arabs, which is not enough for guaranteeing equal rights to women by any of the modern standards. Quran almost invariably talks to men, how they are incharge of the women, pleasures they would attain in heaven,
how to discipline women, etc. Even Surah an Nisa, the chapter of women, almost always addresses men. A true god can't simply inflict such huge injustice on half the population of the world.
