FDR is a complicated figure. He took us through a depression and a war and laid the groundwork for the modern social state. He also cut deals with racists, shut POC out of parts of the New Deal and fanned xenophobia and atrocities against the Japanese.
Does FDR deserve many of his accolades? Yes. But I would say more should go to the civil rights activists and progressive lawyers who came after him and fought to make the programs he created more inclusive and racially just.
Also, don't get me started on worship of Ike.

The dude was easily as brutal to migrants as Trump, and he had to be dragged kicking and screaming into enforcing Brown v. Board. Oh, but effective tax rates on the rich were like 3 points higher than today so he was a liberal.
