The Jungle Railway is one of the great train journeys of Malaysia, spanning the length of Peninsular Malaysia through its rugged interior.

Officially known as the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) - East Coast Line, the Jungle Railway travels from Johor Bahru near the Singapore - Malaysia border in the south, to Tumpat near the Thailand border on the east coast.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTM) or Malayan Railways Limited is the main rail operator in Peninsular Malaysia. The railway system built in 1885 dates back to the British colonial era, when it was first built to transport tin.

C’est un concentré de tous les défauts de notre politico-technocratie.
Les objectifs de la loi ? « Sortir de la dépendance à la voiture individuelle », « provoquer » (par l’incitation et/ou la contrainte s’il le faut) un report vers les autres modes de transports.
Là ou il faudrait au contraire permettre la « complémentarité » entre transports individuels et collectifs, en améliorant la performance des TC là où ils sont nécessaires, la loi prévoit des financements pour financer des transports...là où le besoin est le plus faible.

#Thread Ever since visiting Beallsville and my partner's Civil War ancestor's grave, I've been pondering what *my* family has lost, in known history, because of the Genocide.
My partner has taken me to many, many cemeteries around western PA, some of them dating to the 18th century, and been able to point them out as ancestors.

That's kind of incredible, to me.
The top of this thread has a picture of the restored interior of the St. Giragos church of Diyarbakir, in Turkey. My Bakkalian ancestors helped build that church. But past my great-grandfather's generation, I can't tell you what their names were, or where they're buried.

While I cannot attest to the veracity of these reports, I think there are misconceptions here about climate-linked humanitarian crises. One of the effects of climate change is the increased frequency of extreme events such as droughts and floods. #Thread 1/10
So, just because there have been severe floods in certain parts of the country *does not* negate the occurrence of droughts in other parts. I think the term "localized" needs to be emphasized in this context because the impact of extreme weather events is seldom uniform. 2/10
Here is a very basic background of the rainy season over Somalia. During the Gu, the Somali Jet plays a key role in transporting moist air from an area of high pressure around south of Madagascar, past the Horn of Africa to India. The Jet dumps its moisture along the way. 3/10
