I did an interview discussing the historic strike in Colombia and how Chile's billionaire Piñera gov is shooting protesters in the eyes

I linked this to the uprisings against similar neoliberal reforms in Ecuador and the US-backed military coup in Bolivia
In response to massive protests and a strike in Colombia, the far-right government of Iván Duque has imposed a curfew in all of the capital city Bogotá

In recent weeks the US-backed right-wing regimes in Colombia, Chile, and Ecuador have imposed curfews, in an attempt to quell huge popular uprisings.

Meanwhile Venezuela's elected President Maduro still has not declared a curfew, even when the opposition was burning people alive

During the past three weeks, hundreds of thousands in Chile took to the streets to protests the country’s situation, particularly the inequality in what has often been considered the most stable and one of the wealthiest countries of Latin America.
The opposition has suggested there’s a need to reform the country’s constitution, a measure supported by many within the Catholic Church, including Bishop Celestino Aos, apostolic administrator of Santiago, who said there’s “no doubt” the constitution needs to be modified.

In 1973, #Nixon/#Kissinger provoked a coup to overthrow the democratically elected #socialist government of Salvador #Allende, leading to the 17-year nightmare of the #Pinochet dictatorship.
In addition to torturing, disappearing, and murdering thousands of dissidents, Pinochet turned #Chile into a laboratory experiment for #neoliberalism. With the help of Milton #Friedman and the "Chicago Boys," they set to work privatizing everything they could get their hands on.
Health, education, pensions, roads, even WATER-everything was sold off to #Pinochet's cronies. #Chile became the shining, model state for our new, post-Keynesian world. That this only could've happened by installing a #fascist dictatorship was omitted.
