Why this Boomer mom of two GenZ kids is supporting @PeteButtigieg. The theme this week for articles and posts and comments against Pete is his experience. What seems to be missing from this is when politics is experienced personally. Pete is a Millennial. What does that mean?
It means his generation and GenX were the warriors that fought Boomer and GenY wars. He wasn’t too young to be a counter-intelligence Officer in Afghanistan.
It means @Chas10Buttigieg was caught up in outrageous college tuition and has 6 digit debt because he wanted to teach.

It means that guns are still killing people in the streets, in schools, in places of worship, and backyards. It means they were raised in the years where they were taught everyone is equal but don’t see it in reality. It means pot being legal some places and others going to jail
It means studying climate change & seeing so little by govt being done. It means delaying having kids because of student loans and high housing and rents. My oldest can’t afford to move out and both kids have stated they can’t imagine deciding to bring a child in this world.
It means high rates of suicide, depression and anxiety. It means seeing friends and family going from opioids (full bottle) they got for getting wisdom teeth out to heroin to death. It means high schoolers taking a pill at a party and dying because of being coated with fentanyl.
It means white supremacy making a comeback. It means one of those holding a gun to my 16 year old daughter’s head telling her to choose when finding out she was pansexual. BTW she’s strong & reported & he’s charged w/ a hate crime. Trial awaits. I can go on. There’s national debt
This is the life we’ve left to the Millennials and GenZ kids. I want the Millennial who has experienced and has friends and a city that has experienced these things to be on that stage fighting for a future. A good future. A future that lives up to America’s promise.
