This election is so hard. Corbyn is the soil in which anti-semitism has flourished. He has ignored pleas from friends of Labour to act on it. Some of those around him are - pretty much - corrupt. Labour's WASPI policy is (another) massive regressive transfer from young to old.
But, even those (like me) who worry about what Corbyn's spending plans mean, and are aghast at how little Labour (my own Party) seems to care for the fears of Jews, know that Johnson has revealed himself as an Erdogan, an Orban, a Trump who will set fire to all I hold dear.

The BBC is allowing itself to be dictated to by one side in a General Election campaign as to who and when its candidate will be interviewed by. This is how journalism bleeds into advertising.

A few words from your non-resident cheerleader on the political infighting among the remain parties in the UK. They look a bit different from Denmark, and though I can't resolve the conflicts, I may add a bit of perspective. #FBPE #FPHD #StopBrexit
The Danish electoral system is very heavily based on proportional representation. A party has to pas a 2% minimum vote share to be represented, but that's it.
Thus, from a Dane's point of view the UK-system looks designed to waste as many votes as at all possible.

That's, of course, not random as it keeps the parties in power in power.

There was a time when it might have made sense to make a protest vote for a third-party candidate who didn't have a chance of getting elected, or to withhold your vote as an act of rebellion against the establishment.

That time is long gone.

I'm old enough to remember when Democrats and Republicans could both be sure the other party, while having radically different views on what the solutions to our national problems were, at least agreed on the shape of the basic problems. We at least shared some basic facts.

Though we disagreed on proper policy, we agreed that that United States needed to exist as a democratic republic. Its institutions of governance--the House, the Senate, the Executive, the Courts, regulatory agencies, and so on--served a purpose and needed to exist.
