[thread] OEWG (Open Ended Working Group) Intersessional Consultative Meeting : Cybersecurity in the International security context @ United Nations headquarters, New York #EUCyberDirect

I raised the issue about hoax as a weapon on cyberspace.

Transcript :
Thank you Mr Chairman

Mafindo has been fighting hoax, our term for mis/disinformation, in Indonesia for several years, and we've been working together with many regional & international institutions in regard to this.

Due to emergence of the social media platforms,
Hoax propaganda now can be executed with such speed & virality, that can be very devastating to societies. and also to democracies. It is now a concern for many.

We'd like to propose that we see hoax as an international cybersecurity issue.
And in relation to the suggestion from Trend Micro, an International Cybercrime Court can help many in combating this problem.

Thank you.
