The House Intelligence Committee report specifically cites the emails obtained by American Oversight's FOIA litigation that show a paper trail from Giuliani to the Oval Office to Secretary Pompeo.

NEW: A federal court just ordered the State Dept. to search for and release additional Ukraine-related records to us by January 8.

State had previously failed to search for documents dated after Aug. 2, 2019. The court says searches must cover up through Oct. 18, 2019.
The first set of Ukraine documents released to us—with the earlier search cut-off date—included nearly 100 pages of emails and showed links between Giuliani and Mike Pompeo.

Now, the State Department's search must also include the time period *after* the whistleblower complaint.
The first set of State Dept. Ukraine documents were all from 8/2 or earlier, but a lot happened after that:
- 8/12: Whistleblower complaint filed
- 9/1: Zelensky-Pence meeting in Warsaw
- 9/11: Aid released
- 9/25: Call "transcript" released
- 10/17: Mulvaney press conference

NEW: We filed two lawsuits against the Treasury Department to shed light on contacts between administration officials, Sen. Mitch McConnell, and a Russian company that announced a $200 million investment in a Kentucky plant: americanoversight.org/american-overs…
We're asking for communications between Treasury officials like Sec. Steven Mnuchin and multiple entities — including the company En+ and its subsidiary Rusal, which invested in the Kentucky plant — associated with a Russian oligarch who had previously been under U.S. sanctions.
We’re also suing to release Treasury’s communications with the office of Sen. McConnell, who had supported lifting sanctions on Rusal just months before the $200 million investment in the Kentucky plant was announced. washingtonpost.com/politics/how-a…

TOMORROW will mark 5 yrs since the 525 page exec summary of the Senate Intel Committee's 6700 page torture report was released

I covered the drafting of the report & the politics leading up to release extensively

It wasn't clear the report's summary would ever be released

So in an effort to get the torture report released, in 2014 I filed a #FOIA request with CIA for it and sued arguing the report was an agency record subject to #FOIA

What I didn't know then & know now is Sen Feinstein and her top staff did not want it released via FOIA

Recently, the Justice Department posted 150 pages of emails and other documents on its #FOIA reading room revealing, in part, what went on behind the scenes after I, and later ACLU, filed the lawsuit.

I had never seen these documents before.

The House Intelligence Committee Impeachment Report included phone records showing contacts among Rep. Nunes, John Solomon, Rudy Giuliani, Lev Parnas and others. So I asked the committee how those records were obtained. (thread 1/)
2/ House Intel Committee (Dem majority) comms director Patrick Boland told me: "The Committee did not subpoena call records for any member of Congress or their staff, including Ranking Member Nunes, or for any journalist, including Mr. Solomon....
3/ "...Any questions about the fact that Members, congressional staff, or journalists appear in call records released by the Committee should be directed at those individuals, who were in contact with individuals of investigative interest to the impeachment inquiry."
