A system where people of color - who are half of all Democratic voters - have to donate hard-earned money to make sure there’s a candidate that represents them on the stage while an endless parade of white guys just buy their way into the debates is basically a racist tax.
It’s some trickle-down racist economics.
The six people who support Bloomberg and the nine people who support Steyer just turn on the TV and see their plutocratic views represented. They don’t have to shell out $$ every time a debate comes up to see *somebody* say something about the fact that the police are killing us.
They don’t have to worry about whether Iowa or New Hampshire (which have next to no Electoral Votes btw) will be willing to consider their candidate “intelligent” or “capable” or “electable” despite having no ideas or experience in government.
