@bbcnews once again pandering to desperate efforts of those seeking to exploit antisemitism. There is nothing in the 'leaked' document except statements by those who are ideologically opposed to Corbyn's leadership 1/
@BBCNews Their testimony is wholly contradicted by actual evidence (leaked emails) which show Corbyn repeatedly trying to expedite complaints, get people suspended and being held back by the very people complaining about him 2/
@BBCNews @bbcnews is either aware of this evidence, in which case their pandering to these stories amounts to an intentional effort to distort the news agenda. Or they are not aware, in which case they are a wholly incompetent news institution unfit to be a public broadcaster 3/
@BBCNews honestly not sure which is more shameful, embarrassing and undermining of the most basic democratic principle of fair and accurate reporting during election 4/

The 'sting' of tonight's @afneil interview with Corbyn was based on an apparent falsehood. Neil claimed Lesley Perrin got off with a 'formal warning' for sharing Holocaust-denying material. In fact she resigned her membership as soon as the party opened investigation 1/

Last night I did a pre-recorded interview for @itvnews on Harry Vs newspapers. As if to illustrate the point I was planning to make about press power, interview was delayed whilst they fretted about whether copies of newspapers at centre of the story might be caught 'in shot' 1/
@itvnews They then cut all my comments about how I feel less sorry for Royals than countless victims of press abuse who have no access to justice which in a system in which justice is exclusive preserve of the rich and famous 2/
@itvnews about how the story is symptomatic of the massive and on-going cover-up which Leveson Inquiry part 2 was supposed to unravel until it was cancelled by the government with support of all national newspapers inc @guardian 3/

Today’s SASC hearing once again exposed the desperate need for significant reforms to privatized military housing. Health hazards that Tim and I saw when we visited Ft. Belvoir earlier this year still haven't been fixed; military families are still facing unacceptable conditions.
The services have increased their efforts, but it’s not enough. We need fundamental changes – more oversight and accountability for both the military and private housing contractors.
The NDAA, which includes many provisions of my military housing reform legislation, will help drive these reforms forward. We need to pass it ASAP.

THREAD: What is going on in Torbay Constituency Labour Party? The West Country CLP has been in the news this month after the party suspended three of its candidates in the local elections over concerns about alleged #antisemitism. /1
The first candidate to be suspended was Virginia Keyes, women’s officer for Torquay branch and contesting Tormohun ward, after TV celebrity and antiracism campaigner Rachel Riley exposed her history of promoting antisemitic conspiracy theories (see threadreaderapp.com/thread/1112258…). /2
Then two more were suspended: Torquay branch chair Jack Critchlow, Labour's candidate in the Cockington with Chelston ward, and Dani Passmore, its candidate in Barton with Watcombe. Once again, allegations of antisemitism are understood to have been behind the suspensions. /3
