Since 2014 Vizio was using used proprietary software to track up to 100 billion data points per day from more than 10 million TVs. They even remotely installed the software on older models. Data was stored indefinitely. How is a hacker worse than this? ftc.gov/system/files/d…
I hate to be that person "they didn't mention x" but the fear-mongering that your TV is gonna get hacked vs. the manufacturer hoovering up 100 billion data points per day per TV and selling them for profit is just... we're afraid of the wrong things.
