GDP is an imperfect measure. When someone breaks their arm and pays for a cast, GDP goes up. We know air pollution contributes to premature deaths. My colleagues (@PTschofen et al.) argue we should deduct these deaths (gross external damages) from GDP. post-gazette.com/news/environme…
