For me, the greatest artwork of the 21st century is "Currency" by Denis Beaubois. He got a $20,000 art grant from the Australian government, converted it to cash, called the stack of cash "art," and then sold it for $21,000.

the best part of that story is he got the grant in Australian dollars, and converted it into Euro currency. The guy who bought it for AUS $21k probably came out ahead in terms of currency exchange rate
