On #InternationalHumanRightsDay2019 let me tell you a story of grit and persistence for Justice that has shaken me like never before.
1) Sachin Jaiswar was a 17 year old living in Dharavi. Father is a painter.
2) In July 2018 police picked him up for investigating a mobile theft+

3) Police had beaten him mercilessly to enquire about the theft.
4) He maintained he knew nothing about the mobile phone
5) Next day police left him, while coming home his health wasn't good.
6) Blood oozed out of his mouth, he fell unconscious while trying to eat food+

7) Immediately he was hospitalized, in few days he died
8) Post mortem report said, he died of leptospirosis.
9) Family is contesting this and say it was due to the Police torture
10) They wanted a fair investigation and FIR against the policemen who beat the boy to death +

11) Family smells foul in the post mortem report and wants a post mortem done again.
12) They refused to accept his dead body, which would finish the case once body is cremated
13) Now while asking for fair investigation, the young man's body lies in morgue since past 16 months+

14) Yes, let that sink in, past 16 months body is lying waiting for cremation, as fair investigation isnt being guaranteed to the family.
We tried to take this up at multiple forums & present the family's trauma at every event, but so far no success
