Because then you will only measure the success of your meditation by whether or not those things are achieved.
You can’t be with high energy all the time.
You can’t always have great vibes.
But you can always have peace.
Just aim to become peaceful.
Be at peace while chilling, while dancing, or while going crazy.
Being at peace means being present in the moment with total acceptance.
But that moment can be anything.
Happy, sad, wild, mellow, whatever.
Close your eyes.
Then just relax and be present.
When thoughts come, just watch them.
Whatever the thought is doesn’t matter.
All that matters is that you watch the thought.
Don’t think about it.
Don't judge it.
That's okay.
Bring your attention back to the present and continue to simply watch your thoughts.
At first it will be difficult to remain present but in time it becomes effortless.
Every time you sit to meditate, progress occurs.
But it is not always visible on the surface.
If you continue, in time, it will come to the surface and you will laugh with surprise.
