She spent the last 2 years of her life in the best care she could receive. It is warm, inviting, excellent staff & care you want for your loved ones. They treat you & your loved ones like family.
I met & befriended a few grannies during that time in addition to the staff.

Since grandma passed, they always invite me to every holiday gathering; Thanksgiving & Christmas & other major holiday parties for the residents.
The director always has the houses decorated according to each holiday & Christmas always looks bright, cheerful & festive.

The houses hold about 60 residents & the families are invited to participate & the food is always excellent! Turkey, Ham, homemade pork menudo, tamales, enchiladas, flan, cheesecake, potatoes au-gratin...it's endless.

There are always a few residents whose families didn't come to visit them on these festive occasions.
They sit & watch other residents interacting with their families & you can see the sadness in their eyes.
They usually sit together mostly.

Every now & then I pop in ocassionaly to visit my favorite grannies & check on them periodically.
Their faces light up & they greet me with warm hugs, smiles & kisses. Reminds me of childhood memories of my grandma.😊💖

Yesterday, I snuck upon my girl Grannie J!
She was sitting with other residents & I surprised her with a card & gift. Her face lit up & a few tears...
Her family wasn't there.

She told me why her family wasn't there; sickness, lack of caring etc. She is awake.
I end this with...don't forget about the grannies & grandpa's this season...they may not be here the next.
